Symptoms of Failure & The Original Part Advantage

Symptoms of a Faulty Reservoir:

  • Fluid Leaks: Wet, oily residue dripping down the master cylinder or pooling under the car.
  • Spongy Brake Pedal: A cracked reservoir allows air to enter the hydraulic system, compromising braking power.
  • Dashboard Warning: Constant illumination of the red "Low Brake Fluid" warning light.
  • Brittle Plastic: Heat cycling causes the factory plastic to crack around the mounting grommets.

The Massive Benefit of Buying Original:

  • Safety First: The braking system is critical. Cheap aftermarket copies often suffer from poor plastic welds that split under pressure.
  • Perfect Seal: Factory originals guarantee exact hydraulic tolerances and a watertight seal against the master cylinder grommets.
  • Incredible Value: Save as much as 70% by buying a tested, recycled original factory part instead of paying inflated main-dealer prices!

Required Tools: Fluid extractor syringe (turkey baster), rags, pliers, fresh DOT 4 Brake Fluid, and a brake bleeding kit.

Basic Fitting Steps:

  1. Extract all old brake fluid from the existing reservoir using a syringe to prevent caustic spillage over paintwork.
  2. Disconnect the fluid level sensor electrical plug.
  3. Release the retaining pin/roll pin holding the reservoir to the master cylinder (if applicable).
  4. Carefully rock and pull the old reservoir upward out of the rubber grommets.
  5. Press the new reservoir firmly into the grommets, secure the pin, reconnect the sensor, refill with fresh fluid, and bleed the brakes.
