1. Switch the vehicle off and remove the key before beginning.
2. Protect the surrounding dashboard trim with a clean cloth or appropriate trim-safe protective tape.
3. Inspect the existing vent and identify the accessible retaining edges before applying leverage.
4. Insert a non-marring trim tool carefully around the edge of the existing vent housing.
5. Release the vent gradually around its perimeter rather than forcing one corner.
6. Withdraw the original vent squarely from the dashboard ventilation duct.
7. Compare the removed component directly against the replacement, including the rear housing, locating tabs, duct interface and identification number.
8. Confirm that the replacement perimeter seal is correctly positioned and has not folded underneath the housing.
9. Align the replacement vent squarely with the dashboard aperture and rear HVAC duct.
10. Apply even pressure around the assembly until all locating points are correctly seated.
11. Check that the trim gaps around the vent are even and that the housing feels secure.
12. Operate the louvres and manual airflow control, then run the cabin blower to confirm satisfactory operation.
