Where is this part fitted & what does it do?

The Oxygen (Lambda) sensor is fitted directly into your vehicle's exhaust system. The primary/upstream sensor sits in the exhaust manifold before the catalytic converter, while the secondary/downstream sensor sits just after it. It continuously measures the oxygen levels in the exhaust gases and sends real-time electrical signals to the Engine Control Unit (ECU) to perfectly balance the air/fuel mixture.

Required Tools:

• 22mm (7/8") specialized O2 Sensor Socket (slotted)
• 3/8" or 1/2" Ratchet and breaker bar
• Penetrating fluid (e.g., WD-40)
• Copper grease / anti-seize (for the threads on installation)

Brief Instructions: Spray the old sensor threads with penetrating oil when the exhaust is warm (NOT hot) and let it soak. Disconnect the electrical block connector. Use the slotted socket to break the old sensor loose. Apply a tiny amount of anti-seize strictly to the threads of the replacement sensor (keep away from the tip!). Tighten to manufacturer torque specs and reconnect the plug. Clear any stored ECU fault codes.
