FIAT SCUDO 220 2.0 JTD ACCELERATOR / THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR
The photographed part is chalk-marked SCUDO 2005. Its housing, connector position and cable-pulley layout visually match the verified throttle-position-sensor reference family described below. The previous Lancia Phedra / camshaft-related identification should not be relied upon.
Do not order by year alone. Match vehicle generation + 2.0 diesel engine + cable-operated system + connector shape + mounting points + pulley layout + reference number where available. If anything differs, message us through eBay before purchase.

WHAT THIS SENSOR DOES & WHERE IT FITS
This is a cable-linked accelerator / throttle position sensor mounted in the engine compartment on vehicles without electronic throttle actuation. The circular pulley is driven by the accelerator cable mechanism. The sensor converts that movement into a continuous electrical position signal used by the engine-management system when calculating fueling / injection strategy.
Why correct indexing matters: the control unit needs a smooth and plausible position signal. Incorrect cable routing, a damaged connector, a sticking pulley or an incompatible sensor can produce the same symptoms as a failed sensor.
COMMON SYMPTOMS OF A FAULTY POSITION SENSOR
- Delayed, intermittent or inconsistent accelerator response
- Hesitation or flat spots when requesting power
- Reduced power or limp-home behaviour
- Engine-management warning light or stored position-signal fault codes
- Live-data position reading that jumps, drops out or does not move smoothly
FITTING GUIDE - GENERAL WORKSHOP PROCEDURE
- Confirm the fault first with diagnostic scan data and inspect the accelerator cable, plug and wiring.
- Switch ignition off, remove the key and follow the vehicle repair procedure for battery isolation if required.
- Locate the cable-operated position-sensor assembly in the engine compartment.
- Photograph the existing cable routing and pulley position before dismantling.
- Release the electrical connector without pulling on the wiring.
- Release the accelerator cable / retaining clip from the pulley mechanism as applicable.
- Remove the sensor assembly fasteners and lift the assembly clear.
- Compare old and replacement parts side-by-side: connector, mounting points, pulley stops, cable seat and overall housing must match.
- Install without twisting or pre-loading the cable. Tighten fasteners to the vehicle manufacturer's repair specification; no unverified torque value is supplied here.
- Reconnect, check smooth full pedal travel, scan live data / clear relevant codes as appropriate, then carry out a safe functional test.
TOOLS & ESTIMATED REPAIR TIME
| Typical Tools | Basic socket / ratchet set, small screwdriver or pick, suitable pliers for cable clips, torch, diagnostic scan tool; torque wrench if specified in repair data |
| Estimated Workshop Time | Approx. 0.5-1.0 hour for straightforward replacement. This is a planning estimate, not an official flat-rate time. |
| Extra Time May Be Needed For | Diagnosis, seized / damaged fixings, wiring repair, cable adjustment, restricted access or additional faults |

WHY CHOOSE AN ORIGINAL-FIT RECYCLED PART?
- Designed around the vehicle's original connector, mounting geometry and cable mechanism.
- Helps avoid the adaptation and fitment uncertainty that can occur with unverified low-cost copies.
- Reusing serviceable vehicle parts reduces demand for newly manufactured replacements and keeps useful components in circulation.
- On selected recycled parts, savings can be up to 70% compared with buying new; the actual saving varies by part and current new retail price.
