The glove-box assembly forms the passenger-side storage compartment and finished lower-dashboard surface. Its latch keeps the compartment closed, the hinges guide the door through its opening arc, and the side damper controls how quickly the door lowers when opened.

This component does not control the engine, gearbox or vehicle electronics. Its job is cabin storage, correct dashboard finishing, controlled opening and secure closure.
