⚠️ ESSENTIAL FITMENT CHECK BEFORE ORDERING
This listing is configured for a UK right-hand-drive front-right / offside / driver-side assembly. Seat-belt assemblies can differ by side, model year, connector, pretensioner type, mounting frame, trim colour and revision. Do not order from model and year alone. Compare every product photo with the removed part and message us through eBay with the VIN if any detail is uncertain.

Where It Fits & What It Controls
The retractor is mounted inside the front-right B-pillar area behind the pillar and sill trim. It stores and retracts the webbing, locks during rapid belt movement or vehicle deceleration and works with the restraint system. The pretensioner connection is part of the vehicle’s SRS safety circuit and may tighten the belt during a qualifying impact event.
Common Fault Symptoms
• Belt retracts slowly or remains loose
• Webbing jams, will not pull out or stays locked
• Frayed, twisted, cut or contaminated webbing
• Pretensioner has activated after an impact
• SRS / airbag warning lamp caused by belt circuit fault
• Damaged connector, mounting frame or height guide
Why Choose a Used Factory-Fit Part?
A correct factory-fit assembly is designed around the vehicle’s original mounting geometry, webbing length, connector arrangement and restraint specification. A cheap universal or visually similar copy may not match these critical details. Buying used also keeps a serviceable component in circulation and can cost substantially less than a new dealer-supplied part. Depending on the component and current new price, the saving may be as much as 70%; actual savings vary.
Professional Installation Strongly Recommended
This is a safety-critical SRS/pretensioner component. Installation should be carried out by a competent technician using the manufacturer workshop procedure and specified tightening torques. Never apply electrical power to a loose pretensioner and never probe its connector with a test light or ordinary meter.
High-Level Fitting Guide
- Confirm the replacement matches the original side, bracket, connector, webbing colour and all identification marks.
- Park safely, switch off the ignition, remove the key and follow the Mercedes battery-isolation procedure. Disconnect the negative terminal and allow the SRS system to power down before work.
- Carefully remove the front-right sill trim, B-pillar trim and belt-anchor covers using non-marring trim tools.
- Release the pretensioner connector lock without pulling the wires. Do not test, energise, drop, heat or dismantle the pretensioner.
- Remove the belt anchor, retractor and height-adjuster fixings while noting the exact belt routing and assembly orientation.
- Install the replacement in the same orientation, with the webbing untwisted. Tighten all restraint fixings to the official workshop specification and renew single-use fasteners where specified.
- Refit trims, reconnect the vehicle battery correctly, then carry out an SRS diagnostic check. Confirm the warning lamp extinguishes and the belt retracts, extends and locks correctly.
