Reference Vehicle and Fitted Location

Reference vehicle: first-generation Toyota Aygo 5-door. This wheel is fitted inside the cabin on the driver's steering column, directly in front of the instrument display.

The same wheel design may also be used in matching 3-door Aygo, C1 and 107 vehicles. Door count alone does not confirm compatibility. Always match GS120-01840 and the rear mounting arrangement.

What the Steering Wheel Does

The steering wheel is the driver's main physical control for turning the vehicle. It attaches to the steering-column shaft and transfers rotational input through the column to the steering system. It also provides the correct mounting structure for the compatible horn and driver's airbag assembly.

This sale does not include the airbag system. A steering-wheel replacement will not automatically repair a horn fault, airbag warning light, clockspring fault, steering-angle sensor fault, power-steering fault, indicator-cancel fault, steering rack fault or column fault.

• Rim surface is badly worn, polished, cracked, sticky or uncomfortable to grip.
• Wheel has cosmetic damage, deep scratches or staining.
• Internal frame, airbag mounting points or centre area have been damaged.

How to Confirm Before Ordering

1. Locate the identification number on the rear metal frame of your old wheel.
2. Confirm it reads GS120-01840 or the same number without the hyphen.
3. Compare the centre spline aperture, metal support shape and all airbag mounting points.
4. Confirm your vehicle uses the standard 3-spoke wheel with no multifunction controls.
5. Check that you need the bare wheel shown, not the airbag, horn pad or steering-column parts.
6. Send your registration or VIN and a clear photograph of the old part through eBay Messages if assistance is required before purchase.

Fitting Information

Typical Procedure

1. Park with the road wheels and steering wheel centred. Switch off the ignition and remove the key.
2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait the workshop-manual safety period before touching the SRS system.
3. Release the airbag/horn module through the correct rear access points using the specified tool.
4. Disconnect the SRS and horn connectors carefully. Store the airbag module trim-side upwards in a safe location.
5. Mark the relationship between the wheel and steering shaft so the replacement is installed straight.
6. Loosen the centre fastener with the correct socket. Keep it partly threaded until the wheel releases from the spline.
7. Compare both wheels side-by-side. Transfer only compatible reusable trim or components.
8. Install the replacement on the alignment mark and tighten the fastener to the manufacturer's specified torque.
9. Reconnect the compatible airbag/horn assembly, reconnect the battery and check horn operation, steering alignment and the SRS warning-light sequence.
