Toyota Corolla E12 3/5 Door Hatchback Rear Wiper Arm Blade 2002-2007
The arm is mounted at the rear hatch/tailgate window and attaches to the rear wiper motor spindle. The motor rotates the spindle; the arm transfers that movement to the wiper blade while its spring mechanism keeps the blade against the rear glass.

The rear wiper motor produces the rotary movement. The arm attaches to the motor spindle and converts that movement into the sweeping action of the blade across the rear glass. A spring-loaded section provides pressure so the blade follows the curvature of the glass.
Correct arm geometry is important because it determines the parked position, sweep path, blade pressure and the relationship between the blade and rear-window edges.
✓ Weak or uneven pressure against the rear glass
✓ Blade chatters, skips or lifts away from the glass
✓ Arm is loose on the motor spindle
✓ Arm does not move correctly while the motor spindle is turning
✓ Visible crack, distortion, corrosion or damage around the arm/pivot
✓ Wiper parks in the wrong position after the arm has slipped on the splines
✓ Excessive movement at the pivot
A correctly identified manufacturer-specification wiper arm is engineered around the vehicle's spindle, glass shape, sweep geometry, spring pressure and parked position. Very inexpensive pattern copies can vary in moulding quality, spline engagement, spring force, pivot construction or blade position.
A serviceable used original-specification component can therefore be an excellent alternative to buying new when it has been correctly identified and its condition is suitable. Re-using automotive components also extends the service life of existing manufactured parts and reduces unnecessary replacement waste.
The following is a general rear-wiper-arm replacement guide. Workshop procedures should always take priority for the individual vehicle.
• Correctly fitting metric socket and ratchet for the retaining nut
• Low-range torque wrench capable of accurately setting 5.5 N·m
• Plastic trim tool or suitable tool for lifting the spindle cap
• Masking tape for recording the original parked blade position
• Clean cloth and nylon brush for the spindle splines
• Optional small wiper-arm puller if the old arm is seized
• Suitable penetrating fluid if corrosion is present
1. Switch the ignition/wiper system off and allow the rear wiper to return fully to its parked position.
2. Mark the original blade position on the glass with masking tape. This makes correct re-alignment much easier.
3. Protect the rear glass and surrounding trim. Carefully lift/remove the wiper-arm spindle nut cover where fitted.
4. Use the correctly fitting socket to loosen and remove the arm retaining nut.
5. Release the old arm from the splined motor spindle. If seized, use an appropriate puller rather than levering against the glass.
6. Inspect and clean the spindle splines. If the motor spindle is rounded, heavily corroded or damaged, further repair may be required.
7. Position the replacement arm on the spindle so the blade aligns with the original parked-position reference.
8. Refit the retaining nut. Toyota service specification for the rear wiper motor-to-arm fixing is 5.5 N·m (approximately 48 in·lbf).
9. Refit the protective cap, remove the masking tape and test the rear wiper through a full sweep with the glass wet.
10. Confirm that the blade clears the edges of the glass, parks correctly and maintains even contact.
Straightforward replacement is normally a short mechanical job. Allow approximately 10–20 minutes when the old arm releases normally, with additional time possible if corrosion or a seized spline is present.

Buying a serviceable used component supports a local automotive parts business while helping keep usable components in service for longer. Re-use can reduce demand for unnecessary replacement parts, packaging and disposal, making it a practical choice for both vehicle ownership costs and resource use.
We would rather verify the application first than send you the wrong component.
