YEAR ALONE IS NOT ENOUGH. This listing targets the Toyota Yaris second-generation 5-door hatchback body used in the UK from 2006–2011 and the REAR RIGHT / UK OFFSIDE / DRIVER-SIDE rear door.
2011 requires extra care: Toyota's next-generation Yaris also begins in 2011. A 2011 registration therefore does not by itself prove compatibility. Your car must have the earlier second-generation body shape shown in the reference photographs below.
The manufacturer's full catalogue number is not readable on the photographed component. For that reason we are deliberately not inventing a cross-reference. Before purchase, compare your existing check strap with the photographs for side, mounting plate, hole positions, arm length/curve and overall construction.

Reference photographs are provided to help identify the correct 5-door second-generation Yaris body. They are not photographs of the donor car. Steering-wheel orientation and photographed side may differ from a UK vehicle.

The door check strap sits between the vehicle body/jamb and the front edge of the rear-right door. It moves as the door opens and closes. Its job is to control the door's opening travel and provide resistance/holding positions so the door does not simply swing freely through its full movement.
This is a mechanical door-control component. It does not operate the central locking, electric window, speaker or electrical door systems.
No additional Toyota model has been added as a confirmed interchange.
Similar-looking door checks can appear on related vehicles, but the photo-visible ES70 marking is not sufficient evidence on its own to prove an exact manufacturer interchange. We therefore do not advertise Vitz, Belta, Vios or another Toyota model as confirmed compatible without a verified catalogue number.
This deliberate approach helps prevent speculative compatibility claims and reduces the risk of customers ordering a part that looks similar but has a different plate, arm length, travel or mounting geometry.
✖ Front-right door – this is a rear-door component.
✖ Front-left door – wrong position.
✖ Rear-left / UK nearside rear door – wrong side.
✖ First-generation Yaris body – different generation/body.
✖ A 2011 vehicle with the later third-generation body shape.
✖ Sedan-bodied variants or other Toyota models without a verified part-number match.
✖ Any vehicle whose existing check strap has different mounting holes, plate profile, arm length/curve or stop geometry from the photographed item.
| 1️⃣ | Confirm the vehicle has 5 passenger doors, not 3. |
| 2️⃣ | Confirm it is the 2006–2011 second-generation Yaris body shape shown above. |
| 3️⃣ | Confirm you need the rear-right / UK OSR / driver-side rear door component. |
| 4️⃣ | Compare the old part to our actual photographs: mounting plate, holes, arm curve, length and mechanism shape. |
| 5️⃣ | For a 2011 registration, make certain the vehicle is the earlier second-generation body. |
| 6️⃣ | Still unsure? Contact us through eBay Messages before ordering with the vehicle details and a clear photograph of your existing component. |
The rear door check strap is the mechanical link between the door and body that manages the door's movement as it opens. A correctly functioning unit helps control the door's travel and gives the door defined resistance/holding positions.
This is particularly useful when entering or leaving the vehicle, loading a child seat, working beside another parked car or opening the door on an incline. A worn or damaged mechanism can allow the door to move unpredictably or create unpleasant knocking, clicking or notchy movement.
• Door swings more freely than expected.
• Clicking, clunking, popping or knocking from the door-jamb area while opening/closing.
• Notchy, jerky or unusually stiff door movement.
• Excess door travel or an unusually loose feeling.
• Visible wear, bending, cracking or looseness around the check mechanism or mounting point.
• Door movement feels noticeably different from the opposite rear door.
Similar symptoms can also be caused by loose fasteners, hinge wear, door alignment or previous body damage. Inspect the vehicle before assuming the check strap is the only fault.
A correctly matched manufacturer-branded component was designed around the original vehicle's door geometry, mounting points and intended opening movement. When the pictured component matches the one removed from your vehicle, this can provide a more predictable route to restoring the original fit and door movement than selecting an unknown pattern design purely because it looks similar.
Used components also provide buyers with the opportunity to reuse an existing serviceable part instead of purchasing a newly manufactured replacement.
Depending on the component and current new retail price, selected used vehicle parts may offer savings of up to 70% versus comparable new-part pricing. Actual savings vary by part and are not guaranteed.
• General metric socket and ratchet set
• Suitable screwdriver set
• Short socket extension where required
• Torque wrench used with the correct vehicle repair specification
• Masking/protective tape for painted edges
• Replacement trim clips if existing clips are damaged
• Magnetic pick-up tool or clip tool can be useful
Exact tool/socket sizes should be confirmed on the vehicle rather than assumed from a generic guide.
Typical planning allowance: approximately 30–60 minutes for an experienced technician.
This is an estimate rather than a guaranteed repair time. Broken trim clips, previous repairs, damaged/seized fasteners, door damage or restricted access can increase labour time.
