WHAT THIS PART DOES & WHERE IT FITS
The steering wheel mounts directly onto the splined upper steering-column shaft. It transfers the driver’s steering input to the column and provides the mounting location for the horn contact and driver airbag assembly. On equipped versions it can also support multifunction controls, but no switches or airbag module are included with this item.

FITTING GUIDE — AIRBAG SAFETY APPLIES
Steering and airbag work is safety-critical. Installation should be completed by a competent technician with the correct workshop information. Never probe an airbag connector with a test lamp or multimeter.
1. Centre the front wheels and steering wheel; record the original alignment.
2. Switch off the ignition, remove the key, disconnect the battery negative terminal and follow the vehicle manufacturer’s airbag waiting procedure.
3. Release the driver airbag/centre module from the rear access points using the correct method for the fitted wheel.
4. Disconnect the airbag and horn connectors using approved anti-static handling precautions.
5. Mark the steering shaft and wheel relationship. Remove the centre bolt with the correct multi-point tool.
6. Withdraw the wheel without rotating the clock spring. Compare spline, mounting face, wiring and airbag fit before installation.
7. Install in the marked position. Use a new self-locking centre bolt where required and tighten only to the VIN-specific workshop-manual torque.
8. Reconnect the airbag/horn, battery and diagnostic equipment. Check horn operation, warning lights, steering alignment and steering-angle calibration.

Typical tools: battery-terminal spanner, trim-safe tools, suitable flat release tool, correct XZN/triple-square centre-bolt socket, ratchet, calibrated torque wrench, marking pen and compatible diagnostic scan tool. Exact tool sizes vary by wheel and production date.
