What this part controls

The yaw rate / ESP acceleration sensor monitors the vehicle’s rotational movement and lateral movement. The stability control system uses this data alongside ABS wheel speed and steering information to help decide when to reduce engine power or apply brake intervention during a skid or loss of traction.

Common symptoms of a faulty yaw rate sensor

Fitting instructions

This is a safety-system sensor. Replacement should be carried out by a competent person. Calibration with VIDA or a compatible diagnostic tool is strongly recommended after fitting.

Step	Guide
1	Switch ignition off. Follow safe workshop procedure for seat wiring and battery handling.
2	Remove the front seat rail trim covers and access the seat rail fasteners.
3	Remove the four seat rail screws/fasteners as required and carefully move the seat enough to access the carpet. Do not strain wiring.
4	Fold the carpet aside to expose the body sensor cluster / yaw sensor bracket.
5	Disconnect the electrical connector. Remove the bracket screws and lift out the sensor assembly.
6	Compare the old unit with this one: part number, 2WD label, connector, bracket, orientation and mounting holes must match.
7	Install the replacement sensor assembly, reconnect the plug and refit the carpet and seat rail components. Use new seat rail fasteners where your workshop data requires it.
8	Torque seat rail fasteners to workshop specification, then calibrate the yaw sensor/body sensor cluster using VIDA or a compatible diagnostic tool. Clear codes and road test safely.
