WHY REPLACE YOUR PUMP ASSEMBLY? 🌍

Symptoms of a faulty combined pump: Heavy or stiff steering at low speeds, a loud whining or groaning noise from the auxiliary belt area, overheating engine temperatures, or visible fluid leaks (either pink/green coolant or red power steering fluid) from the central housing seals.

Avoid cheap aftermarket replacements. The splines that connect the PAS pump to the water pump on this specific engine are notorious for wearing out on poor-quality copies. Choosing an original factory-fitted part ensures hardened metal splines and superior seal integrity under load.

💰 The Benefit: You can save as much as 70% by purchasing a verified working used original part instead of buying brand new from main commercial dealerships! Buying recycled car parts also directly reduces industrial waste and carbon emissions.

REPAIR TIME & FITTING INSTRUCTIONS 🛠️

Estimated Repair Time: 2.0 - 3.0 Hours
Required Tools: Auxiliary Belt Tensioner Tool, 10mm/13mm Socket Set, Hose Clamp Pliers, Coolant & PAS Fluid Catch Pans.

  1. Ensure the van's engine is completely cooled down before starting to avoid severe burns.
  2. Drain the engine coolant and extract the fluid from the power steering reservoir.
  3. Release tension on the auxiliary drive belt and remove it from the PAS pump pulley.
  4. Disconnect the high and low-pressure steering fluid lines from the pump body.
  5. Disconnect the coolant hoses from the rear water pump housing.
  6. Unbolt the entire assembly from the engine block. Note: It's heavily advised to replace the connecting splined shaft/gasket if separating the two units, but fitting the whole assembly is much easier.
  7. Mount the new unit, reconnect all hoses and lines, and reinstall the drive belt. Refill and bleed both the cooling system and power steering system thoroughly.
