PART NUMBER FIRST • FITMENT VERIFIED BEFORE ORDERING
⚠ FITMENT STATUS — VIN CONFIRMATION REQUIRED
This is a safety-critical restraint component. Do not order it from
year, model name or eBay's compatibility dropdown alone.
Photographic evidence from this listing:
Renault Mégane, donor marking 2003, NSF/front-left, Autoliv marking
600 51 64, label code C84.
Independent parts-market cross-referencing indicates a possible Renault Mégane II /
Mk2 3-door hatchback 2002–2009 front-left application, but that wider range is
not treated as confirmed until VIN/EPC verification has been completed.

What This Part Does
This assembly forms part of the front occupant restraint system. The belt permits
normal occupant movement while the retractor manages the webbing and is designed
to restrain the occupant under appropriate locking conditions.
On the candidate Mégane II application, the reel/anchorage assembly is fitted behind
the relevant interior side/B-pillar area beside the front seating position; exact
mounting arrangement varies by body style and must be checked against the vehicle.
Common Signs a Seat-Belt Assembly Needs Attention
• Belt retracts slowly or does not retract correctly
• Reel remains jammed or locked when it should operate normally
• Webbing is frayed, cut, heavily contaminated or damaged
• Reel casing or anchorage is visibly damaged
• Assembly has been crash-locked or shows evidence of impact/deployment
• Webbing remains twisted or cannot run through its normal path
• Anchorage or mounting hardware has sustained damage
• Reel remains jammed or locked when it should operate normally
• Webbing is frayed, cut, heavily contaminated or damaged
• Reel casing or anchorage is visibly damaged
• Assembly has been crash-locked or shows evidence of impact/deployment
• Webbing remains twisted or cannot run through its normal path
• Anchorage or mounting hardware has sustained damage
Important diagnostic note: a buckle that does not latch may be a
separate buckle fault. An illuminated SRS/airbag warning lamp also requires proper
diagnosis and is not, by itself, proof that this particular reel is faulty.
Why Correct Original-Fit Specification Matters
On a restraint component, the important factors are correct mounting geometry,
correct webbing and reel configuration, correct body/position application and
serviceable condition.
A correctly identified used original-fit assembly can retain the vehicle-specific
mounting arrangement and trim relationship for which the vehicle was designed.
Unverified low-cost copies or visually similar assemblies should never be selected
simply because they look approximately the same.
Used components can also offer substantial savings — in some cases as much as 70%
compared with the equivalent new manufacturer-priced component. Actual saving varies
by part, condition, availability and the current new-part price.
🔧 Fitting Guidance
Safety-critical component: professional installation is strongly
recommended. Use the Renault workshop procedure applicable to the vehicle's VIN.
PartPilot does not guess seat-belt anchorage torque figures or SRS de-powering times.
General installation sequence:
1. Confirm the replacement assembly against the removed unit: part marking, body style, mounting geometry, reel orientation, webbing route and connectors.
2. Park the vehicle safely and switch the ignition off. Where the assembly interfaces with a pretensioner/SRS circuit, follow Renault's VIN-specific workshop procedure for battery isolation and SRS de-powering.
3. Remove the relevant sill, side, quarter or B-pillar trim using the correct workshop procedure so clips and trim panels are not damaged.
4. Photograph the original webbing route, mounting orientation and connector routing before disassembly.
5. Remove the seat-belt anchorage and retractor fasteners using the correctly fitting tools.
6. If an electrical/pretensioner connector is present, handle it only in accordance with the applicable Renault SRS procedure. Do not probe an SRS circuit with unsuitable test equipment.
7. Install the replacement in precisely the same orientation. Ensure the webbing is not twisted, trapped or rubbing against trim.
8. Tighten all restraint anchorage bolts to the exact VIN-specific Renault workshop torque with a calibrated torque wrench. No generic torque value should be guessed.
9. Refit trim, restore the vehicle according to the workshop procedure and complete the prescribed belt/retractor/SRS functional checks. Diagnostic scanning may be necessary where an SRS circuit has been disturbed.

⏱ Estimated Fitting Time & Labour Cost
PartPilot planning allowance: approximately
0.75–1.25 labour hours for a straightforward replacement.
This is a planning estimate, not a Renault manufacturer flat-rate time.
Corroded fasteners, broken trim clips, previous repairs, SRS diagnosis or other
vehicle-specific complications can increase labour time.
