The component mounts on the inside face of the vehicle's RIGHT REAR passenger door, within/against the interior door-trim assembly.
In UK terminology this is commonly described as the OSR / Offside Rear door.
The interior handle forms part of the mechanical door-release system. When the lever is pulled, it acts on the linkage/cable connected to the door latch so that the rear passenger door can be released from inside.
The handle itself is not the central-locking control unit. A fault elsewhere in the latch, cable, child-lock mechanism or linkage can produce similar symptoms, so diagnose the mechanism before replacing parts.
