SEAT Leon FR vehicle data and fitting location
Where does it fit?
This trim is installed in the front driver footwell. In a right-hand-drive Leon it forms the raised support for the driver's left foot and closes/protects the adjoining carpeted footwell area.
LEFT-FOOT REST CLUTCH BRAKE ACCEL.
What it controls: it is a non-electrical interior trim and does not control an electronic or mechanical system. Its job is to support the driver's resting foot, provide a durable contact surface and finish/protect the footwell.

This part will not fit
- Left-hand-drive vehicles. LHD parts use a different orientation and commonly a different 1K1-prefixed base number.
- SEAT Leon FR Mk1 / 1M, Leon FR Mk3 / 5F, Leon FR Mk4 / KL or any vehicle outside the Mk2 1P / 1P1 generation.
- A passenger-side panel, accelerator/brake/clutch pedal cover, carpet section or pedal mounting bracket.
- Vehicles where the rear bracket, clips, fastener recess, outer profile, tread pattern or complete colour suffix differs from the photographs.
- Vehicles with a broken or missing body-side mounting bracket unless that bracket is repaired or replaced separately.
- Any car selected only because the year or engine appears in an automated compatibility checker.
Five-point buyer matching checklist
RHD only
Confirm the steering wheel is on the right and the part sits in the driver's left-foot resting area.
Match the face
Compare the long tapered dotted tread, raised side wall and circular fixing recess.
Match the reverse
Check every clip, rib, bracket engagement point and cut-out against the actual photos.
Match the number
Look for 1K2864777B or the same complete moulded number on your original. Match suffixes where shown.
Ask before buying
Send your registration, VIN and a clear photo of your old part through eBay Messages for a fitment sense-check.
Best practice
Photo plus complete part number plus VIN gives the strongest check. No single method should be used alone.
Symptoms of a worn or faulty footrest trim
- Cracked, split or missing plastic around the fixing recess.
- Broken rear clips causing the panel to move, click or rattle.
- A raised edge, loose corner or poor seating beside the pedal area.
- Heavily worn or polished tread that no longer gives a confident resting surface.
- Exposed carpet, insulation or an unfinished appearance in the driver footwell.
- Incorrect replacement trim that leaves gaps or does not engage the original bracket.
Why choose a factory-original pre-owned component?
Designed for the original footwell
The correct factory moulding follows the vehicle's carpet, bracket, kick-panel and pedal-area geometry. This helps retain the intended fit, pedal clearance, surface texture and interior appearance.
Better value than a cheap copy
A low-cost universal or poorly moulded copy may have inaccurate clips, hard edges, mismatched texture or a loose fit. A matching pre-owned factory part can cost substantially less than buying new, with savings of up to 70% possible depending on the part and market price.
Reuse keeps parts in service
Reusing a serviceable component reduces demand for new plastic production, packaging and manufacturing energy while helping another vehicle remain complete.

Fitting instructions
Required tools
- Plastic trim-removal wedge
- Small ratchet and socket set and/or Torx driver set, depending on retained fasteners
- Low-range torque wrench capable of approximately 2 Nm
- Inspection torch
- Protective gloves and a clean cloth
Estimated repair time
30-45 minutes for a straightforward like-for-like replacement. Allow up to 60 minutes where surrounding sill/kick trim must be loosened, clips are damaged or the mounting bracket needs attention.
- Park safely, apply the handbrake, switch the ignition off, remove the key and move the driver's seat fully rearward.
- Remove the floor mat and photograph the original installation so the clip and trim order is recorded.
- Use a plastic wedge to release any overlapping sill or kick-panel trim. Avoid metal screwdrivers against visible plastic.
- Remove the retained cap/bolt or nut fasteners, then carefully disengage the original footrest from its bracket and clips.
- Place old and replacement parts side by side. Confirm all profiles, rear clips, holes, ribs, colour and moulded numbers match.
- Clean the mounting area and check the body-side bracket is complete, straight and secure.
- Engage the replacement fully into the bracket first, then align the remaining clips and fixing points. Do not bend or force cold plastic.
- Refit the original fasteners. Related RHD Volkswagen Group workshop data quotes 2 Nm for the footrest bolt and the three retaining nuts; apply this only where the same fastener arrangement is present and do not overtighten.
- Refit surrounding trim and the floor mat. Press the footrest firmly by hand to confirm it does not rock, lift or move.
- Check full clutch, brake and accelerator movement before driving. The replacement must not obstruct any pedal.
