NSF / Front Left Door Lock & Latch Actuator Mechanism
Used original vehicle-manufacturer component • Actual item shown below
⚠ FITMENT MUST BE VERIFIED BEFORE ORDERING
The listing photographs clearly identify this unit as removed from a Toyota Aygo, 2012. A legible Toyota OE number and donor VIN are not visible in the supplied listing photographs. Mk1 Aygo front-left lock assemblies differ by body configuration, so 3-door / 5-door fitment is not being guessed. Please send your VIN through eBay Messages before purchase if you are unsure. We will verify against the correct catalogue application.

PART IDENTIFICATION
Part type Front door lock / latch / central-locking actuator assembly
Vehicle side Left front / Nearside Front / Passenger side on UK RHD vehicles
Confirmed donor marking Toyota Aygo — 2012
Condition Used
Construction Mixed pressed/formed metal latch structure, moulded polymer actuator housing, rods/cables and electrical actuator components
OE number status Not legible in current listing images — VIN verification required before claiming an exact OE number.
WHERE THIS PART FITS & WHAT IT DOES
This assembly is installed inside the left-front door shell at the rear edge of the door, behind the interior door trim and moisture barrier. It engages with the body-mounted striker when the door closes. The mechanism combines the mechanical latch with the central-locking actuator and the linkages/cables used by the inside and outside handles and locking system.
Typical functions: securing the front-left door, releasing the latch when a handle is operated, responding to central-locking commands and transmitting movement through the fitted rods/cables.
COMPATIBILITY / FITMENT CONTROL TABLE
Vehicle Years Position Status
Toyota Aygo Mk1 / AB10 family 2012 donor confirmed Front Left / NSF Vehicle identity confirmed; body variant/OE cross-reference requires VIN verification.
Toyota Aygo Mk1 3-door 2005–2014 generation Front Left DO NOT ASSUME — different lock assembly references exist.
Toyota Aygo Mk1 5-door 2005–2014 generation Front Left DO NOT ASSUME — verify VIN/OE number first.
Citroën C1 / Peugeot 107 Related first-generation platform Front Left NOT advertised as confirmed fitment until the exact OE number is established.
Known fitment distinction: catalogue data shows different Toyota front-left lock-with-motor references for Mk1 Aygo RHD 5-door and 3-door applications. This is why we will not use registration-year similarity alone to determine compatibility.
SIGNS YOUR DOOR LOCK / LATCH MAY BE FAILING
• Door will not lock or unlock with the central locking.
• Locking works intermittently or only manually.
• Door remains locked even when the actuator can be heard operating.
• Door bounces back, will not latch securely, or needs excessive force to close.
• Interior or exterior handle feels disconnected because a linkage/cable is not being transferred through the latch correctly.
• Repeated clicking/buzzing from the actuator with little or no latch movement.
• Door-ajar/locking behaviour appears inconsistent where the latch assembly contains the relevant switch function.
Correct diagnosis is important: similar symptoms can also be caused by wiring, a damaged handle cable/rod, striker alignment, fuse/BCM issues or another central-locking component.
WHY CHOOSE AN ORIGINAL MANUFACTURER COMPONENT?
A used original manufacturer component retains the factory-designed mounting geometry, connector arrangement, latch engagement and linkage locations for the application it was built for. Cheap copy parts can vary in actuator strength, connector quality, cable/rod geometry, moulding accuracy and latch feel. For a component that physically secures a vehicle door, correct fit and operation matter.
Buying a good used original component can also cost substantially less than purchasing the equivalent part new. Depending on the component and current new-part price, used parts can represent savings of up to around 70%; actual savings vary by part and market price.
FITTING GUIDE — OVERVIEW
  1. Confirm the replacement unit matches the removed part and the VIN-specific catalogue application before dismantling.
  2. Switch off the ignition. If working close to electrical connectors, follow the vehicle manufacturer's battery-disconnection procedure and retain any required radio/security information.
  3. Remove the left-front interior door trim using suitable trim tools. Remove screws/covers in the handle and pull areas as required.
  4. Carefully release the moisture barrier without tearing it. It must be resealed to prevent water ingress.
  5. Disconnect the lock actuator electrical connector and identify each handle/lock rod or cable before releasing it.
  6. Support the mechanism and remove the latch retaining fasteners from the rear edge of the door.
  7. Withdraw the assembly, transfer any required clips/linkages only where the catalogue and physical part match, and install the replacement in reverse order.
  8. Before refitting the trim, test inside handle, outside handle, manual locking, central locking and safe door-latch engagement several times.
  9. Refit and reseal the moisture barrier, then reinstall the trim and clips without trapping wiring.
Safety note: Do not drive the vehicle if the door cannot latch securely. If you are not confident with door-latch systems, use a competent technician.
TOOLS & ESTIMATED LABOUR
Typical tools: trim-removal levers, screwdriver set, Torx/bit set, socket set and ratchet, small pick/clip tool, inspection light, protective tape for painted edges, and suitable moisture-barrier resealing material if required.
Planning estimate: approximately 0.8–1.5 labour hours for a straightforward lock/latch replacement. Corroded fasteners, damaged clips, previous repairs, wiring faults or diagnosis can increase the time.
GARAGE LABOUR COST ESTIMATOR — NO JAVASCRIPT
Formula: hourly rate × labour time = estimated labour charge. Parts, diagnostics, VAT (where applicable), consumables and additional repairs are not included.
