- Drain sufficient coolant to bring the level below the thermostat/water-inlet housing.

- Release the appropriate coolant-hose clamps and carefully remove hoses from the housing.
- Undo the housing mounting fasteners evenly and remove the assembly.
- Remove the old seal/gasket and carefully clean the mating surface without damaging it.
- Compare the replacement housing against the removed component before installation.
- Install the correct thermostat/seal orientation using vehicle-specific repair information.
- Refit the housing and tighten fasteners to the manufacturer-specified torque. We do not invent a torque figure where it has not been verified.
- Reconnect hoses and clamps correctly.
- Refill using coolant of the correct specification.
- Bleed the cooling system thoroughly according to the vehicle procedure.
