Where Is This Part Fitted?
The arm is fitted externally at the rear tailgate glass. Its mounting boss attaches to the splined/tapered output spindle of the rear wiper motor.
The arm itself is a mechanical component. It does not electronically control the wiper motor. Its job is to transfer the motor spindle's rotational movement to the rear wiper blade while spring tension keeps the blade pressed against the rear glass.
Correct arm geometry is important because it determines the blade's parked position, sweep path, pressure against the glass and clearance from the tailgate/bodywork.

11. Wet the rear glass and operate the wash/wipe system while observing the full sweep. Stop immediately if the blade approaches bodywork or the edge of the glass.
