What This Component Does
This assembly forms a critical junction in the engine cooling circuit. Its moulded hose outlets route coolant between the engine and associated cooling-system hoses. The internal thermostat responds to coolant temperature and controls when greater coolant flow is permitted through the radiator circuit.
The electrical temperature connection incorporated into the assembly is part of the coolant-temperature monitoring arrangement used by the vehicle's engine-management and temperature-monitoring systems.
