What This Component Does

This assembly forms a critical junction in the engine cooling circuit. Its moulded hose outlets route coolant between the engine and associated cooling-system hoses. The internal thermostat responds to coolant temperature and controls when greater coolant flow is permitted through the radiator circuit.

The electrical temperature connection incorporated into the assembly is part of the coolant-temperature monitoring arrangement used by the vehicle's engine-management and temperature-monitoring systems.

COMMON REASONS FOR REPLACEMENT: coolant seepage around the housing or hose connections, cracked or damaged plastic outlets, unstable operating temperature, slow warm-up, overheating, poor heater performance, thermostat malfunction, damaged electrical connection or replacement following cooling-system repairs.

Why Choose A Factory-Production Component?

A serviceable factory-production component was designed around the original engine architecture, hose diameters, mounting geometry, sensor position, thermostat installation and cooling-system packaging of the vehicle. Low-cost pattern components can vary in moulding quality, dimensional consistency, sealing surfaces and connector fit.

Reusing a carefully inspected factory component can therefore be a highly cost-effective repair option while also keeping a perfectly serviceable component in circulation instead of manufacturing another replacement.

POTENTIAL SAVING — UP TO 70% Compared with selected brand-new replacement pricing. Actual savings depend on current new-part price, supplier and availability.

BODY STYLE NOTE: This engine-cooling component is not determined by the number of side or rear doors. Early X83 panel van, Combi and platform-chassis vehicles can share powertrain components, but the engine code and exact part number remain the decisive checks.

Will Not Fit / Exclusion List

DO NOT ORDER SOLELY BECAUSE YOUR VEHICLE IS A VIVARO.

This listing is not intended for later Vivaro generations, 2.0 diesel, 2.5 diesel or petrol applications unless your removed component carries the exact matching factory reference and identical physical configuration.

Do not use this listing for Vivaro B or later Vivaro platforms. Do not assume a visually similar housing has the same thermostat, electrical connection, hose arrangement or calibration.

Vehicles registered close to model or engine changeovers must be checked by exact component number, engine code and photographs before purchase.

Fitting Guide

Cooling systems can remain pressurised when hot. Work only on a fully cooled engine. These steps are a practical overview rather than a substitute for the manufacturer's workshop procedure and torque data.
Allow the engine to become completely cold and position the vehicle safely on level ground.
Remove any engine-cover or intake components required to obtain safe access to the thermostat-housing area.
Place a suitable drain container beneath the cooling system and drain sufficient coolant before disconnecting the housing.
Photograph or mark the coolant-hose positions. Disconnect the electrical sensor plug and carefully release the hose clamps.
Remove the retaining fasteners and withdraw the old housing without damaging the mating surface.
Compare the removed component with this replacement: part number, mounting points, port arrangement, sensor connection and thermostat configuration must correspond.
Clean the mating surface carefully. Use the correct serviceable/new seal required for the installation and never rely on a damaged flattened seal.
Install the housing and tighten fasteners to the vehicle manufacturer's specified procedure and torque. Do not overtighten a thermoplastic housing.
Reconnect coolant hoses, clamps and the electrical connector.
Refill with the correct coolant mixture and bleed the cooling system using the vehicle manufacturer's prescribed procedure.
Run the engine to operating temperature, confirm heater operation, temperature stability and absence of leaks, then recheck the coolant level again after the engine has fully cooled.

VAT, Returns & Buyer Protection

VAT GLOBAL ACCOUNTING MARGIN SCHEME: Where applicable, qualifying second-hand goods are sold under the relevant margin accounting scheme. VAT is not separately itemised and no reclaimable VAT amount is shown on the invoice.

Changed-mind and incorrect-variant returns remain subject to the applicable eBay return terms and UK consumer law. Buyers should therefore complete all part-number, engine-code and photograph checks before fitting the component.

An automatic restocking deduction is not charged merely because the buyer changed their mind or selected the incorrect variant. Where an eligible return is received in a materially different condition — for example used, altered, damaged, incomplete or inadequately protected during return — an eligible deduction of up to 50% may be made only where permitted by eBay and only to reflect the actual loss in the item's value.
